Who can deactivate team member accounts?
Only team owners are able to deactivate team member accounts.
As the owner of a Workiro team you can't remove your own account from the team. Instead, you need to make another member the owner, and then have the new owner deactivate your account - please contact help@workiro.com for assistance.
Before you start
Before deactivating a team member we recommend they
- Complete (or cancel) any outstanding tasks or signature threads they have created
- Remove any private scheduled templates they have created
We are working on a process to allow delegated team members to do this in future.
Deactivating a team member's account
- 🚨 Deactivating a team member cannot be undone.
- Team member's aren't notified when their accounts are deactivated.
- They'll be signed out of Workiro on all devices and unable to sign back in.
- Email notifications will no longer be sent to their mailbox.
- Shared threads and documents are not deleted and will remain visible to the team as appropriate.
- Their license will be released.
Follow the steps below to deactivate a team member.
1. Navigate to settings > team, and select 'Deactivate' from the menu on the member you wish to deactivate.
2. Type 'I understand' into the confirmation screen.
3. The team member will be moved to a 'Deactivated' state.
How do I access a deactivated member's shared work?
Navigate to the deactivated team member's connection from their listing on the settings > team screen. From their connection details you can change the view to 'Team', and join a thread that they were working on, should you need to pick something up.
When a team member is deactivated they are automatically hidden. This means they no longer show in your lists of connections.

Should you need to relate a thread, or document, to a deactivated team member you can temporarily unhide them.
What do external connections see?
External connections will not be explicitly notified that your team member has been deactivated.
We are working on a process to allow delegated team members to more actively monitor a deactivated team member's work.
Can I reactivate a team member?
No, this change is irreversible.
How can I remove other connections?
If you wish to remove a regular connection from your connections list, if, for example, you are no longer working with them, or added them by mistake, you can simply hide this connection.
