Open PDFs in a Desktop App

Workiro has you covered when working with PDF documents in the web, where you can take advantage of seamless annotation and mark-up features. However, there are some important differences in the capabilities available in PDF web and desktop applications.

Our recent beta release means you can now utilise the capabilities of desktop PDF applications such as Adobe Acrobat simply by installing the Workiro desktop application. When running the Workiro desktop app the document menu (accessed via the document row ) has an option to Open in... Desktop PDF App

The document will open in your locally installed PDF Application, from where you can edit it as normal. When you choose to save the document, a new version is uploaded to Workiro. You'll be notified that the upload has been successful.  

Note: The desktop PDF App integration works by monitoring a specific document location for the file being saved. Any change made to the file location will break the link to Workiro, and changes will no longer be saved. 

This feature is currently only available for our Windows Desktop application, please vote for it to be included in a future version of our Mac App.
