Deleting documents
Steps to delete a document

- When viewing a document in a list, choose the menu (...) option
- From the context menu, choose the "Document Details" option

- Within the "Document details" window, choose the menu (...) option
- Click on the "Delete" button
- A confirmation dialog will appear to ensure that you intend to delete the document. Confirm your decision to proceed with the deletion

- Anonymised references in threads:
- When a document is deleted, any previous references to that document in threads will be anonymised. This means that the references will be altered to maintain thread coherence, without revealing the specific content of the deleted document. See example below:
Important considerations

- Permissions required:
- Only Team Owners have the authority to delete documents. If you do not have Team Owner permissions and believe a document should be deleted, contact your Team Owner for assistance.
- Signature documents:
- A document configured for Signature cannot be deleted until all related Signature Threads have either been completed or cancelled.
- Document ownership:
- Only documents uploaded by your Team, or by private thread users with whom your team have interacted, are eligible for deletion. If another Workiro Team uploads a document involving your Team, only they will have the authority to delete it.
- Permanent deletion:
- Deleting a document is irreversible. Once deleted, the document and its metadata (name, filetype, size) cannot be recovered. Ensure that the document is no longer needed before initiating the deletion process.
