The Workiro Hot Folder, a Game-Changer for Your Workflow
Uploads happen automatically, no extra clicks, no browser tabs.
Just drop (or save) a file into the [Hot Folder – Workiro] shortcut on your desktop and the Workiro desktop app springs open with those files already queued in the upload window. It’s a fast, friction-free way to get documents into Workiro.
Any program that can “Save As…” or export to a folder can now feed Workiro with zero custom code. Your existing tools keep doing what they do best. Workiro simply picks up the files in real time.
After Workiro receives the files, they’re moved to an Archive sub-folder where they sit for 10 days. If something interrupts the upload (wifi drop, wrong workspace selected, coffee-spill panic), you can recover the original file instantly. Peace of mind without extra backup steps.
It’s the simplest way to speed up uploads, safeguard data, and integrate Workiro into the rest of your stack, so your team spends less time clicking Upload and more time doing meaningful work.
Installation and use
On installation or upgrade of the Workiro Desktop Application (1.36.42 or above) a 'Hot Folder' shortcut is added to the desktop. Feel free to rename this shortcut.
The Workiro desktop app watches the folder for new file(s) and subsequently opens with the files populated in the file upload dialogue, ready for classification.
Technical Details
The Workiro desktop application must be running.
After successfully handing the files to Workiro they are cleared from the 'Hot Folder' to an ‘Archive’ folder where they stay for 10 days, allowing recovery if the upload wasn't completed.
